Picked under the Strawberry Full Moon during the second budding of tea leaves before monsoon season, this exceptional tea has notes of honey and fruits.
Each box includes a canister with 2 oz. of loose leaf tea and a hand numbered card. Only 500 units produced.
During our last trip to Darjeeling, Frank was presented with 15 teas in a tasting room and asked to rank them. He picked three teas in particular as outstanding with this tea as his favorite. The tea maker recognized Frank's exceptional taste and shared the story behind this special tea.
Once a year during the second harvest of fresh tea buds (the Second Flush), the very best tea pickers are chosen to participate in a ceremonial picking of the best teas at the tea garden. It is believed that the full moon's gravitational pull increases the flavor of each tea, a result of years of biodynamic farming practices.
This exceptional tea was picked and made at the Selimbong Tea Garden. An organic and Fairtrade certified garden located in the mountainous region of Darjeeling bordering Nepal at approximately 5,500ft of elevation.
